"The Witches" is a piece of top-notch entertainment. Sure, kids will enjoy it but "The Witches" is not what I would call a kids movies. It's scary, suspenseful and kind of gross. The witches whyy. The witches alphabet. The witches review. This film was made on the year I was born; ironically, Roald Dahl (one of my favourite writers) happened to die on that year too. The Witches was a brilliant film, and one of the best Roald Dahl films out there. In fact, most of his films were actually pretty good anyway. Personally, The Witches was my third favourite Roald Dahl film (the other two being Matilda and James and the Giant Peach) but "The Witches" is probably the most "darkest" of all the Roald Dahl films. The film was very scary to watch as a child. It's unsuitable if you're too young. It will scare the kids for sure. The part at the beginning where the boy is playing outside, and one of the witches comes was frightening. That witch was very scary. I hated her. It's a scary film to watch on Halloween. The characters were really good. I really liked Luke. He's a brave young boy. He takes on those witches. The "Grand High Witch" was also scary. I couldn't believe how hideous and ugly she really was. These witches are evil. I wanted them all destroyed, and that's what happened towards the end. Thankfully! You, the viewer, are always supporting Luke in his trip at the hotel. Let's not forget Luke's grandmother named Helga where they move to England. The icing on the cake would have to be that Rowan Atkinson was part of this film. He added that "flavour" if you know what I mean. You first have to see it in order to understand what I meant by that. I liked him in the movie. He made the movie exciting. He was funny. Let's not forget Luke's new friend named Bruno. All he does is likes to eat. The only regret was that a sequel wasn't made given how the ending planned out though it wasn't necessary. It would've been nice if there was a sequel - The Witches 2. I leave that to the imagination. I can't believe that there are more witches out there. The film isn't for those under ten years old I'm afraid. There's also a book titled The Witches.
